Eliot Porter’s color work has always attracted me, or so I thought, then I gravitated to black and white images. The Hawaiian landscape does not generate the saturated coloration of the mainland fall counterpart, so I have always just put my head down and stayed home while on the East coast the foliage went through the red, orange, yellow phases of fall. I have a few really dramatic fall color images that I love, but the majority of my work has been black and white. Go figure. No one has seen my work. Maybe that will change now.
