The Chillingworth Collection
The creative urge is in my genetic structure. My father’s ancestors were weavers in Dublin, until Sam Chillingworth set sail for Hawaii. My mother’s people were feather workers and cape makers on the Hamakua coast of Hawaii island.
Kanehoalani translates to “ruler of the heavens”.
My attention has always been focussed on finding patterns in dramatic Hawaiian landscapes, North Kohala, primarily, and Haleakala, using black and white photography. The images are there, waiting to be found. I’m finding them. North Kohala is blessed with north light all day, from dawn to dusk. Gorgeous landscapes are so inspiring. I just returned from Stonehenge.
